Where It Begins
It begins in K-12 education system.
Five plus decades ago, we went to schools where the responsibility for what was taught, and the books that were used, was with the local school board. The three Rs were the big thing to teach and learn. The States came along with a better idea, a little financial support, and some strings. Then came the teacher’s unions. Recycling became a pet issue and grade school kids went home and lectured their parents about the critical need to recycle.
Then, in 1980, the US Department of Education was created. While the Department states that its role is limited, its influence and control over the US education system is massive. In fiscal year 2021 the Dept of Education is budgeted to spend $79,235,492,000 on US education, which is approximately 8% of total US spending on education.
Dept of Education has bought you, ‘No Child Left Behind’, race based discipline, use of racist policies to achieve diversity, and set academic standards. The Dept of Education uses grants, with strings attached, to fund dozens of programs at the state and local levels.
Today, activists are targeting states and local school boards to radically transform our education system and America. Buried in the pseudo-patriotic sloganeering is ‘less education’ and ‘more political re-education’. They intend to teach every student that all inequality in society can only come from ‘Whiteness’. Anyone who is not white is ‘an oppressed victim’. The Left’s education agenda promotes information about sex, abortion, and politicized ideas about sexual orientation and gender identity. The school kids are being scared into believing that because of humans the climate is changing, and the earth will not be inhabitable…. with a twelve-year (now ten) tipping point. States and School Districts are moving to mandated ethnic programs that support the far Left’s ideology. If the current course is maintained, it will permeate all subjects and be jammed into every single aspect of a child’s education.
But how is the education doing on those three Rs? The most recent report card by the National Assessment Governing Board shows that assessments of students at grade 12 perform at a proficiency level – demonstrated competency, including knowledge, application, and analytical skills – Reading 37%, Writing 27%, and Mathematics 24%.
Let us all wake up to some cold, hard facts. The book does not care or know what your color is, race/ethnicity, gender, or personal hardship. If you want of develop skills, be successful, live well and prosper, you will work hard to learn as much as you can, especially in the area you want to work. Your employer or your customer wants to have confidence you are competent and will do the work correctly. Your work product is what will show that you have the ability and build their confidence.
